Job Summary

Staub Precision Machine, a leading precision machining manufacturer in Hamburg, NY, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support our growing manufacturing team. We are looking for a hands-on manufacturing professional with experience in CNC machining, setup, print reading, fixture/workholding design, and process development. The ideal candidate understands how precision parts are actually manufactured and can work effectively with CNC programmers, machinists, operators, quality, and management.

Responsibilities and Duties are as follows:

Key Responsibilities

• Develop manufacturing process plans from customer drawings/models through finished parts.
• Support CNC machining operations involving lathes, mills, or preferably both.
• Work with programmers and machinists to improve setups, tooling, cycle time, quality, and throughput.
• Design, build, modify, and troubleshoot fixtures and work holding.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, GD&T, tolerances, and material specifications.
• Create fixture drawings, 3D models, and Bills of Materials using CAD software.
• Support CNC programming and production troubleshooting.
• Support quoting of complex precision-machined components.
• Utilize ERP systems for manufacturing planning and documentation.
• Identify opportunities for automation, process improvement, setup reduction, and increased machine utilization.
• Support new product introduction and process development.
• Work with quality to address nonconformances, root causes, corrective actions, and continual improvement.
• Maintain manufacturing documentation and support applicable AS9100 and customer requirements.
• Independently manage assigned projects and communicate effectively across departments and, when applicable, sister companies.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field or equivalent relevant manufacturing experience.
• 3+ years of manufacturing, CNC, process, or design engineering experience.
• CNC experience with lathes, mills, or preferably both.
• CNC setup experience.
• Strong technical print-reading skills.
• Experience with fixture/workholding design and building.
• Strong understanding of machining processes and manufacturing flow.
• Ability to interpret GD&T, tolerances, and material specifications.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• CAD experience

Physical Requirements

This is a hands-on manufacturing environment. The position requires time on the production floor and may occasionally require lifting, pushing, pulling, or handling materials, tooling, fixtures, or components weighing approximately 50 lbs. or more with appropriate assistance.
