Staub Precision Machine is a leading precision machine shop specializing in high-volume, high-quality machining and manufacturing services for a diverse range of industries including medical and aerospace. We pride ourselves on our commitment to quality, automation, and customer satisfaction. We are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager to lead our team and effectively drive our business.

As the General Manager of our precision machine shop, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our operations, ensuring the highest standards of production efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction. You will lead a talented and dedicated team, drive strategic business initiatives, develop, manage and institute processes within our business system, and optimize resources to achieve business goals. Your role will involve managing daily operations, developing and executing business strategies, maintaining financial responsibility, and nurturing a culture of continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will have experience in manufacturing management, strong leadership skills, and a technical understanding of machining processes. Your leadership will be crucial in steering our company towards sustained growth.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Post ads, sort resumes, phone screen and perform first round interviews to identify candidates that fit the skills needed and are a cultural fit for the company.
  • Compute payroll.
  • Manage pre-employment onboarding tasks and coordination.
  • Maintain confidential HR files and databases.
  • Complete and process claims for NYS PFL, Disability, and FMLA benefits.
  • Assist HR team in completion of special projects as assigned.
  • Perform file audits to ensure all required employee documentation is collected, secured and maintained.
  • Provide professional administrative support to various departments.
  • Perform general office duties, such as copying, filing, scanning and performing basic bookkeeping work.
  • Assist as needed with daily correspondences.
  • Local limited travel between two manufacturing companies
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Experience: 

  • Excellent organizational skills, with an ability to prioritize important projects.
  • Strong phone, email and in-person communication and interviewing skills.
  • Computer literacy – Microsoft Office, Excel , Word.
  • General knowledge of various employment laws and practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, high ethical standards, and the ability to exhibit a high level of confidentiality.
  • Associate degree in Human Resources or related field or equivalent experience.
