Job Posting – Controls Engineer – Automation

Staub Precision Machine, a leading component manufacturer in Hamburg is seeking a team oriented Controls Engineer to join the company. We have the ability to design and build advanced manufacturing solutions for a number of different industries such as aerospace, medical, tech and communication. This role involves designing, developing, and implementation of end-to-end integrated systems. The Controls Engineer will be responsible for the design and management of equipment automation, system integration, and optimizing industrial operations. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, and familiarity with modern electrical controls system concepts.

 

Responsibilities and Duties are as follows:

  • Design and develop control systems and software for complex automation and machine control systems.
  • PLC, HMI and Robot programming to optimize automation processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate systems and achieve operational efficiency.
  • Use SOLIDWORKS to design and draft automation and tooling for new manufacturing solutions.
  • Develop and implement standard engineering practices, as well as provide detailed documentation upon project completion.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with control systems and implement corrective measures.
  • Coordinate with project managers to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a Mechanical or Electrical related field.
  • Proficient in PLC programming, HMI systems, and Robotics.
  • Strong mechanical design aptitude with ability to read, understand and create technical drawings and material.
  • 3 plus years of manufacturing or automation experience preferred.

The physical work environment will require:

  • Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs or heavier.
  • Occasional pushing, pulling or handling of materials.

  • Shift is Monday – Friday. 40 hours per week
