New employees give us new opportunities
We’ve recently been on the lookout for talent. Maybe you’ve heard. A self-assessment of our company led us to look for ways to bolster our engineering capabilities. We are proud to say that we’ve found two new employees who have been difference makers since day one. Going forward, we’ll have a stronger Additive department and an upgraded Machining department. As new opportunities arise, we’ll be prepared to take them on with these key additions:
A recent UB graduate with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Brendan recently started in our Machining department. Brendan was hired to work in production support, and to bring an engineering presence to the department. Brendan hopes to gain valuable shop floor experience that will complement his education. “I chose Staub because your business moves so fast, and I see opportunities to apply new ideas,” said Brendan. So far he’s been a sponge. Brendan is learning how to operate, setup, program, and maintain our turning centers.
Brendan is from Poughkeepsie, NY. After graduating from Arlington High School, he chose UB because it was another big school with a great engineering department. In school and in his spare time, Brendan enjoyed a lot of hands-on experience. In the summers during college he worked for Habitat for Humanity in Dutchess County, and managed a group of volunteers through a new home construction from the ground up. When he’s not working or going to school, Brendan finds time to play the guitar and hone his golf game. Welcome to the team, Brendan!
Dan also recently graduated from UB. With his Mechanical Engineering degree, Dan is working in the Additive department. His experience with 3D modeling software and creativity have instantly been major assets to Staub Additive. Dan has already designed some customer prototypes and internal sample parts, which are things that we weren’t doing just a few weeks ago. He is also poised to help out in our Quality Management System, thanks to his love of statistics and experience with SPC.
Outside of work Dan likes to be outdoors. Hiking, fishing, kayaking, and traveling are some hobbies that he picked up growing up in Bloomfield, NY near the Finger Lakes. He hopes to gain real world experience, and apply what he’s learned at UB to our company. Dan says that he’s really excited to be working in such a new field, and that he hopes to “take Staub’s 3D Printing capabilities to the next level.” That would be fine by us, Dan!
